Examines the interpretation of the spoken and unspoken word and the effective utilization of public information processes of print, radio, and television media. This course is equivalent to the Texas Department of Emergency Management and Federal Emergency Management Agency courses IS240 and IS242. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to 1. Describe the various ways people interact. 2. Analyze personal and group dynamics. 3. Demonstrate effective written communications. Late assignments will be assessed a 10-point penalty for the first week, then a grade of zero will be assessed. 3. Attendance Policy. Attendance will be monitored through activity on Blackboard. 4.
