A presentation of motor characteristics with emphasis on starting, speed control, and stopping systems. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to 1. If you choose to not take the FINAL, your Exam Average of your first 4 exams will be used as your FINAL EXAM grade.

LIT utilizes an early alert system called Starfish. Throughout the semester, you may receive emails from Starfish regarding your course grades, attendance, or academic performance. Faculty members record student attendance, raise flags and kudos to express concern or give praise, and you can make an appointment with faculty and staff all through the Starfish home page. You can also login to Blackboard or MyLIT and click on the Starfish link to view academic alerts and detailed information. It is the responsibility of the student to pay attention to these emails and information in Starfish and consider taking the recommended actions. Starfish is used to help you be a successful student at LIT. ADDITIONAL COURSE POLICIES/INFORMATION 1. ALL work should be completed in PENCIL! Work submitted in pen will receive a ZERO. 2. No food, drinks, or use of tobacco products in class. 3. No foul or harsh language will be tolerated 4. Turn off all Cell Phones during lectures, unless otherwise instructed by me 5. Clean up work station after you complete your lab assignments. Materials left at work station will result in 10 points deducted from that lab assignment. 6. Take care of tools and equipment used during class. 7. Headphones may be worn only upon Instructor approval. 8. Do not bring children to class. 9. No Cheating of any kind will be tolerated. Students caught cheating or helping someone to cheat can and will be removed from the class for the semester. Cheating can result from expulsion from LIT. 10. Students must have access to, and knowledge of basic computer functions (including Blackboard) 11. Students should check Blackboard daily. 12. Internet Usage 1. Classroom computers have access to theinternet. 2. Student usage of the internet will bemonitored. 3. Proper usage of the internet will be allowed for classroom research, classwork, tests, and assignments as directed. 4. Any unauthorized usage of the Internet will not be tolerated. 5. Improper usage of the Internet, such as profanity, nudity, gambling, etc. will result in disciplinary action. 13. There will be NO make-up Exams. If you miss an Exam for any reason, you automatically
forfeit your possible exemption from the Final. 14. There will be NO make-up Labs. 15. There will be a 20 point penalty for each day deducted from late work (daily assignments only).
