During the week, responses to student emails will occur in the evenings after 6:30pm. If the university is closed for holiday or other official purposes, email communication will commence when the university officially reopens. Please send one email when communicating with the course instructor and allow the indicated amount of time before sending another. It is okay to send another email if one does not receive a response within 48 hours – sometimes emails are delayed, end up in the wrong endbox, or just do not get sent. Once an email is read, the course instructor will promptly reply. Be sure to include the course in which one is enrolled, the course number and section number. Example: SOCI 1301.XXX (list the letter/number combination that follows). This number is listed in Blackboard when the student accesses the course.
Evaluation of coursework: This course offers the busy student flexibility as module coursework is released and available for completion each week. Two types of feedback are offered upon completion of assessments. • Automatic feedback: Quizzes and exams are set for automatic evaluation and posting of points earned to Blackboard. • Manual feedback: Any written assessment such discussions or fill-in-the blank assessments or quizzes with short answer are graded manually by the course instructor.
